Fall Hunt 2019

Fall Club Hunt 2019

Due to Hurricane Dorian our Club hunt was push to the third weekend in September and was held at Buckroe Beach in Hampton, VA on September 21, 2019. Our Hunt Masters wanted to ensure that conditions on the beach were conducive to having a good time and usually after a major storm the Beach can be a real mess to deal with. This was a good decision and allowed us to have better weather and a lot more fun in my opinion.

Good Morning. What a great day for a hunt.

As with any hunt we have to get things set up and while we had no hurricane the night before we still had some rain that required a great group of volunteers to rake the hunt field to break the sand up to allow for easier seeding of the tokens and clad coinage.

Warm up Hunt time. Let's make sure those detectors work shall we?

We paused for a break to honor Mikey our Honorary Club Hunt Mascot that recently passed away. We wanted to find a way to cheer up Ed after his loss and this was a good start. Rest in Peace Mikey, you will be greatly missed at our club hunts.

Main Hunt Time

This looks like a few people ready to go!

And Go......

Don't those waves look great! Perhaps a bit too chilly. Well maybe not so much for the Seagull.

We get buzzed by a few flocks of pelicans cruising down the beach as we close out the final minutes of the main hunt.

Prizes

Prize Winners

Thanks everyone for coming out and joining us on the beach for a great time. Thanks as always to Susan and Robert our Huntmasters. The work you do in the background for prize support and to get everything ready is a lot of work and is greatly appreciated.

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.
My apologies that it took me so long to get these photos online.
See you in the Spring!
