As with other hunts in the past this year was no different in the variety and quantity of prizes we handed out to our participants. Not only do our participants find clad coinage along with silver and gold while out searching the field, various tokens are buried in the sand to turn in at the end of the event for larger prizes.
There is no way I can mention all the prizes that we gave away at our event but some of the most sought after prizes were the gift baskets filled with detector gear, limited edition coins and coin sets, and of course the two metal detectors that we had this year.
After a day of searching the sand and knowing you have a token good for a prize the Award Ceremony is always a fun time for everyone. With a variety of tokens seeded during each event you never know what you might get. The list of what each token is good for is kept secret all day and its only at the Award Ceremony do our participants find out if that odd looking piece of metal with a number stamped in it is good for the prize they have been eyeing at on the prize tables.
