Our first competitive hunt of 2025 was held on April 19, 2025 at Buckroe Beach in Hampton, VA. The weather was nice and sunny with varying gusts of wind that proved to be a bit of an annoyance to keeping our canopy from blowing away as well as the items on the tables.
Unlike years past we had great warm weather, lots of sun, very few clouds, and no rain or snow! Everyone showed up eager to get started. We had a few new members show up and some that have never hunted in a competitive hunt before. After some brief instructions we got the hunt field staked out and ready for the Warm Hunt that began a little after 9am.
We also tried out a new dramatic angle for our group photo. What do you think?

Thank you to several of our members that donated prizes for this hunt, in combination
with
the prizes that our hunt masters purchased there was a great selection of prizes.
Prize Winners
I missed getting photos of a few of our winners as they needed to get back on the
road after completion of the hunt. I think everyone that participated walked away
with at least one prize
and certainly a pocket full of coins. Our hunt masters make
sure there are a considerable
amount of targets to find and some unique tokens
to turn in for prizes as well as a few
buried prizes on
the hunt field that
always makes it exciting when the detector alerts to a find.
